Principal Plowman and Board President Eddie Saffell cut the ribbon in front of the new main entrance of the High SchoolThe School Board officially signaled the completion of the latest phase of Grain Valley High School with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 1, 2019.  Representatives from Hollis + Miller Architects and McCownGordon Construction joined the Board, district administration, and Principal Dr. Jeremy Plowman for the cutting of the ribbon.

In a special reception back inside the school, the School Board dedicated the Jan Reding Community Room and Lecture Hall in honor of their colleague for her commitment to the children of Grain Valley. Mrs. Reding begins her 20th year on the school board this year.

After six years of construction and renovation, this latest phase creates a new main entrance, media center, lecture hall, administration area, and courtyard for student use. Later planned phases will bring new music rooms, a second gymnasium, additional classrooms, and renovation of the remainder of the school.
