Drawing of proposed additions and renovations to Grain Valley High School

The Grain Valley School Board has placed a $14.5 million school bond issue on the ballot for the April 7, 2020 election for the purpose of completing Phase 5 of our district’s long-range plan of additions and renovation to Grain Valley High School.

Phase 5 includes:

  • Band Room
  • Percussion Room
  • Choir Room
  • Stagecraft Room
  • Drama Classroom
  • Black Box Theater
  • Additional Parking
  • Renovate Jerry Mueller Performing Arts Center

Long-range planning for the growth of our student population at Grain Valley High School began in 2012 and we have since completed Phases 1 thru 4 of additions and renovations to the school. Currently, Grain Valley High School houses nearly 1,300 students. Knowing this facility will eventually house at least 1,500 students, the school district feels that this is the time to initiate the next planned addition to the facility.
