Our communication department coordinates consistent internal and external district messaging to ensure our families and team members have the information they need. Through a variety of platforms, we keep our families informed and share the inspiring stories of the students and staff who make Grain Valley great.

Grain Valley Schools values our partnership with the media and recognizes the significant role these outlets play in sharing news with the community. To ensure a smooth, effective, and accurate experience by all parties, all media requests to interview, film, or photograph district students, staff, board members, or property must be made with:

Grain Valley Schools utilizes ParentSquare as the district’s primary communication platform. Parent Square provides a secure and convenient way for families to receive updates, announcements, and reminders from their teachers, school, or the district, all in one place.
We will send text messages to families and team members in the event of school cancellations, safety alerts, or other important notifications. Parents or guardians whose cell phone number is correct in PowerSchool will be alerted through ParentSquare. Please go to your notification settings in the ParentSquare App or the desktop version and turn Text to Instant. Text STOP to 66458 to stop receiving text alerts from ParentSquare.

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents or guardians of a Grain Valley Student have the right to request that their child not be photographed, interviewed, or videotaped by the district or media. To inform the district that you would like your child to opt out of any media, please email their principal directly.

Our social media pages are dedicated to showcasing the achievements of our schools, students, and staff, as well as sharing important news and event information with our community.
We reserve the right to remove comments that do not align with the spirit of our community. This includes, but is not limited to, content that is:
- Profane, provocative, abusive, hateful, or derogatory.
- Racially or ethnically offensive.
- Threatening, obscene, violent, or sexually explicit.
- False, wildly off-topic, libelous, or inciteful.
- Ad hominem attacks on students, employees, guests, or other individuals.
To ensure a safe and respectful environment, please do not share private or personal information about yourself or others. Additionally, comments should not be used to sell products or promote commercial, political, or other ventures.

The Eagle’s View magazine is published three times a year (fall, spring, and summer) and sent to households that reside in Grain Valley Schools boundaries.
