Enrollment and Registration
Enrollment and Registration
At Grain Valley Schools, we strive to provide an education that meets the needs of all students, and encourage an environment where the culture and climate is overall collaborative, safe, and inclusive.
Welcome to Kindergarten!
Kindergarten Enrollment is now open for the 2026-2027 school year! Students must be 5 years old on, or before July 31, 2026 to begin school in August.
Welcome Back Returning Students!
Families must provide proof of residency and emergency contact information in the online registration portal before the start of the new school year.
New Student Enrollment: We're Glad You Are Here!
Stay tuned! Families enrolling new students in Grain Valley Schools will start the process online in July.

- I can't remember my login for the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- Using the “Having trouble signing in?” option located on the sign in page will walk you through reseting your password. If you are still having trouble, you can always call or email your child’s school.
- I have a question about residency, who can I contact?
- Each school has it’s own residency portal email address to support.
- Early Childhood Center Residency Support
- Matthews Elementary Residency Support
- Prairie Branch Elementary Residency Support
- Sni-A-Bar Elementary Residency Support
- Stony Point Elementary Residency Support

- Each school has it’s own residency portal email address to support.
- I participated in Kindergarten registration in the spring. Do I need to fill out the forms again?
- If none of your information has changed, no. Please reach out to the building where your child will attend and ask them to put your record on hold. This will stop the automated emails.
- Do I have to answer all the questions?
- No, but some questions are marked "Required" and must be answered before you can submit your form.
- What if I make a mistake?
- If you would like to make a change prior to submitting the form, you can either navigate back to the page using the “Prev” and “Next” buttons. If you have already submitted the form you will need to contact your student’s school so they can make the changes for you.
- I’ve completed the form, now what?
- Once you have finished entering your information select “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot select this button you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions.
- What if I have more than one student in the district? Do I need to do this for each child?
- Yes. You will need to provide information that is specific to each child. We recommend that you complete and submit one form and then start another. This will allow you to “snap” (or share) selected family information, which saves you time.
